Pet-friendly hotel alert!

P.A.W.ESOME RE-TREAT

W ABU DHABI

Imagine my excitement when I found out there was a hotel in Abu Dhabi that IS pet friendly and goes all out to welcome its furry friends and four legged guests. Pet parents in the capital struggle with so little on offer so we decided to treat Miss Pirlo to her very own 5* sleepover at the W Abu Dhabi.

PUParazzi Welcome

We arrived and my immediate thought was where is the staff entrance/service lift, you become accustomed to navigating these areas when out with your fur baby. NOT AT THE W! Pirlo swanned into main reception like an Oscar winner on the red carpet, and was given the same welcome from W staff as you or I would receive. Causing quite a stir in reception and even posing for photographs with children we were instantly put at ease. Of course, we were 100% mindful that dogs are not for everyone and so Pirlo was kept leashed at all times.

Shout out to the W security and front of house staff who are absolutely incredible and some of the friendliest hospitality staff you will ever meet.

At reception you complete a doggy waiver and are given lots of useful info to make sure your stay is comFURtable.

We love that your pet gets to stay FREE OF CHARGE when you book the P.A.W.esome Re-Treat package. Please note, there are cleaning costs incurred if your pup makes a mess.

FURcilities

Usually when taking Pirlo anywhere overnight we are laden with beds, bowls and food, it is literally like taking a child away. On arrival at our room Pirlo was excited to see a lovely large doggy bed, treats, food bowl, water bowl, poop bags, pee pad and a PAWsome Room Service menu just for her.

Keep an eye out for welcome messages for you and your pet on the mirrors in the room, they are great! The rooms are spacious and immaculate with everything needed for a PAWfect stay. Pirlo mused over her menu and decided on chicken breast and vegetables, when it arrived oh my goodness, even I was jealous, it looked amazing! Needless to say, we had one very happy pup with a full tummy.

Were we able to walk Pirlo? Of course! There is a dedicated grassy area to the back of the hotel (conference rooms’ entrance) where you can take them for toilet breaks and exercise. Restaurants/Bars and Pool area are all out of bounds but this did not spoil our stay at all!

Paw Parents

This was our first visit to the W Abu Dhabi, and I must say it oozes style and personality. The lobby area combines modern luxury with cultural charm and has its very own Sneaker Shop which is something else! Our hotel room was located in the marina building with a beautiful view of Yas Marina and the variety of luxury boats moored up. All of the possible creature comforts you would expect on a 5* staycation was available and Mr Shields commented that the W hotel shower was the best in Abu Dhabi!

We were spoilt for choice when it came to food during our stay. The new Nitro Thursday at the stylish W Lounge served up an evening brunch of delicious bites including sliders, wings, sushi and a cookie box that I didn’t want to end. This lounge is absolutely stunning, with bold colours and a glam curved bar it is the perfect place to unwind and start your weekend. The deal includes unlimited food & alcohol for 3 hours.

Breakfast was at the trendy Garage restaurant, great views of the F1 track accompany your morning coffee and, if like me you have a sweet tooth, visit the bakery truck and treat yourself to the waffles & pancakes, spoiler alert they are delicious.

Fancy a swim? Head up to the Wet Deck and experience rooftop relaxation. Chill out, enjoy the music and take in the magnificent views. We loved the vibe up there and another huge shout out goes to the Wet Deck staff who went above and beyond to make us feel welcome.

If you are looking for an extraordinary pet friendly staycation in Abu Dhabi look no further!

Thank you, W Abu Dhabi, Pirlo is already planning her next visit!
